Ahhh, the city by the Bay. Spent a great 4 days in San Francisco as I prepare to launch the next phase of my life up there. Got to "test drive" the apartment in the Marina I'll be living in. The pictures depict scenes literally footsteps from the apartment -- Fort Mason, the Marina Green, and views of the Golden Gate. I've been to San Francisco many times but each visit amazes me with new discoveries of quaint corners and unique neighborhoods. It's no wonder that it draws more tourists than any other American city. One concern, in late July the city was COLD!! I had heard about the summer fog that layers the city in cool temps. But damn, I hope this weekend was NOT indicative of most summer days. Don't fancy a summer wardrobe of fleeces and down jackets!

Hi!
Welcome to my blog. I started this blog to update people on my trip to Africa in March 2007. As you can see from the pictures and posts, it was an amazing journey, and a great way to end my year living abroad. Now I'm back Stateside and I will try and keep this site updated with my whereabouts, amusing pictures, and occasional life anecdotes. Hope you enjoy. Feel free to drop a comment if you feel inspired or just to say hello. -- Eddie
I recently trained to complete my first triathlon with Team in Training. Team in Training's mission as part of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is to stop blood cancers from taking more lives. I trained in honor of Kiki Castro pictured here, who had Acute Myelogenous Leukemia. On September 8, I completed my triathlon and, soon after, got word that Kiki was out of the hospital and her cancer was in remission. Victory on both counts!
